Our Trust
Welcome to the Kite Academy Trust.
Our Multi Academy Trust (MAT) was formed in October 2015 with five local, good & outstanding schools coming together to provide the very best for all of our children, families and staff. With a clear focus on leadership, governance, teaching and learning, Cross Farm Infant, The Grove Primary, Lakeside Primary, Mytchett Primary and Sandringham Infant began collaborating at every level with the shared aim of raising standards and improving outcomes. On 1st December 2016, we welcomed Holly Lodge Primary to the Trust, followed by Wyke Primary on 1st August 2018, The Ferns Primary on 1st June 2019 and Hale Nursery & Primary on 1st October 2019. Most recently, we were joined by Folly Hill Infant on 1st March 2022. Our Trust now comprises seven primaries and three infants, along with four nursery provisions, in the Frimley, Mytchett, Ash Vale, Normandy, Farnborough and Farnham areas. Our COIN Centre, at The Grove Primary Academy, has specialist provision for 14 children with specific communication needs.
As defined in our recently reviewed leadership structure, local Academy Heads are supported by our Executive Team, consisting of the CEO, Director of Finance, Director of Operations, Head of Improvement and Executive Head Teachers. The centralisation of business functions has been key in ensuring both efficiency and effectiveness in our support services; our Central Team provides bespoke HR, Estates, Finance and IT support to all of our academies. As part of our commitment to continuous growth and development in all areas of the Trust, our newly formed Improvement Team provides invaluable support for all our academies with teaching and learning, inclusion and family welfare.
We have a dedicated, strong Board of Trustees who provide effective, robust support and challenge through clear and open governance, as set out in the Trust's Scheme of Delegation. Each academy has its own Academy Council, consisting of Governors monitoring specific areas to provide both support and challenge to the Leadership of that academy. The clear reporting structure enables the Trust Board to have appropriate and timely information about each academy to ensure that they are well informed to make Trust wide decisions.
Each of our academies provide inclusive learning experiences, supporting every child to thrive and achieve as confident, caring, local, national and global citizens. They maintain their own voice and individuality, while playing a vital role in the Trust-wide collaboration that underpins our success; for any school joining the Trust, this collaboration and participation is essential.
Together, our academies have grown and developed opportunities for collaboration. Our children benefit from an inspiring curriculum and bespoke learning experiences shared across the Trust; including maths, science, and technology competitions, musical concerts, and sporting events. For staff, we have established robust networks for sharing knowledge, best practice and expertise. We are committed to investing in our talented staff team through the high quality professional development opportunities we provide. In this time of rapid change, our collaborative, supportive ethos has ensured our success as we continually strive to provide the very best opportunities for our children.
I am very proud to be the CEO of a growing and evolving Trust made up of like-minded and ambitious Head Teachers, Governors, Staff and Board Members who are committed to the provision of high quality education and first class learning environments. We all look forward to an exciting future!
