Religious Education

“Learning about other faiths helps us to understand each other and grow in mutual respect.” – Desmond Tutu

The aim of the Kite religious education curriculum is to empower pupils to become religiously literate, so that they can confidently hold balanced and well-informed conversations about religions and worldviews. Throughout the curriculum, pupils will focus on theology (key beliefs of different religions), social science (how people’s religious beliefs affect their way of life) and philosophy (asking and answering questions about life, concerning morals). The RE curriculum balances the study of different world religions, providing opportunities for pupils to learn about different belief systems, cultures and traditions within the in the UK and around the world, while also using this knowledge to consider their own beliefs.
