Geography

“Geography underpins a lifelong ‘conversation’ about the earth as the home of humankind.” – Geography Association

The Kite geography curriculum serves as a window to the world; pupils have the opportunity to learn about places outside of their own lived experiences, deepening their global awareness and enabling them to view themselves as ‘global citizens’. Throughout the curriculum, pupils explicitly study the three key strands of geography: physical, human and environmental and conduct a range of fieldwork, first through the context of their own locality before zooming out to learn about the wider world. In each unit, pupils complete an in-depth study of a different country around the world, enabling them to make comparisons to their own locality and lives.
