Our Trustees

The legal powers and responsibilities of the Trust are held by the Board of Trustees who are accountable to the DfE. The Board set the overall strategic direction of the Trust. They scrutinise, challenge and support our educational and operational performance data, stability and emerging risks/opportunities. Accordingly, the Board delegate certain powers and duties to our Academy Councils (as defined in our Scheme of Delegation). Academy Trusts are charitable companies; the Trustees are Company Directors and must comply with company law requirements. The Trust Board is constituted of up to 12 Trustees appointed by the members (normally based on recommendations from the Chair).
